STATE CONTROLLER BETTY YEE BACKS SABRINA CERVANTES

Eastvale, CA –  State Controller Betty Yee endorsed Sabrina Cervantes’s campaign for State Assembly today. Support from Yee comes on the heels of Saturday’s Pre-Convention Caucus meeting of the California Democratic Party, where Cervantes scored an overwhelming victory over her only announced Democratic opponent.

In announcing her endorsement for Cervantes, Yee stated:

“Sabrina Cervantes is an insightful and experienced leader. She understands how to work collaboratively with diverse interests in Sacramento in order to deliver results for the unique communities within the 60th Assembly District. Sabrina will be an Assemblymember that Riverside County can be proud of. Join me in supporting her campaign.”

Yee was elected Controller in November 2014. She previously represented 21 counties in northern and central California as a member of the Board of Equalization. As Controller, Yee is the State’s Chief Financial Officer. She also chairs the Franchise Tax Board and serves as a member of the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) and the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) Boards.

Sabrina Cervantes is a lifelong Riverside County resident, who serves as the District Director for State Assemblymember Jose Medina.
